Mid Week Snow Event

We’ve been spoiled the last few days with way above-average temperatures for most of the Twin Cities area. That nice January thaw is on its way out, so enjoy it before it’s too late! A stretch of wintry precipitation will push through late Wednesday evening through the overnight. Expect the precipitation to be a wintry mix before switching over to all snow Thursday morning. While the storm switches to all snow, a glaze of ice is possible in some areas. Winds will start to kick up a notch late Wednesday night and continue through Thursday, gusts near 40 MPH are possible. Included in this blog are possible totals for the storm, the latest alert map as of Wednesday morning, and expected timings.

Snow Totals:

Total snow accumulations of 2″ – 5″ are possible, with localized heavier amounts in some areas. The map below is the National Weather Service prediction for the storm, which shows are expected totals. Keep in mind these are early predictions and can change at any moment. This blog will be updated once again on Wednesday evening.
