If you have been waiting for a summertime heatwave, your wish has been granted. We will be having high temperatures in the 90s with heat index values over 100° the next few days. The National Weather Service has even issued an Excessive Heat Watch for most of Minnesota from Wednesday morning through Friday evening.
ALERTS:
The Excessive Heat Watch is in effect until 7 PM Friday. This alert was issued due to dew points in the 75-80 degree range and temperatures in the 90s.
WEDNESDAY:
Expect Heat Index values on Wednesday in the mid to upper 70s for the metro area and probably hotter temps in the surrounding areas.
FUTURE DEW POINTS:
Notice the dew point values approaching 80° + towards Rochester and La Crosse, WI. Those will be the most humid areas.
FUTURE TEMPS:
Here is a look at the future temperatures for Thursday. Notice the 100° + zones off toward eastern South Dakota. We will still be warm, with temperatures in the mid-90s to low 100s.
